Description: Once a tube has been made, it can then be bent and formed into a variety of different shapes. Though the equipment and tooling has changed, the basic concept of bending tubes has remained the same. In order for the tube to be bent, the outside of the tube has to be stretched and the inside of the tube has to be compressed.
In this two hour archived recording, Danie Jacobs, Fabcut, will explain the different processes used today to bend tubes, including ram bending, roll bending, compression bending, and rotary draw bending. This program is the fourth FabCast in the six part Stainless Steel Tube Fabrication: From Beginning to End series.
