Are your laser safe?
Industrial lasers are extremely efficient for cutting, drilling, welding, and heat treating materials. However, they present both laser beam hazards and non-beam hazards. When used incorrectly and other safeguards are not in place, lasers can seriously injure operators and other bystanders. What's your risk? What are you doing to minimize your risk?
This seminar meets all training requirements outlined by ANSI, OSHA, and ACGIH.
In this 90-minute session, Bill Janssen from LaserVision speaks the hazards that come with the use of lasers for material processing and help you develop a plan for minimizing these hazards. He will also identify the national regulations and standards designed to address the issue of laser safety.
Focus:
- Overview of industrial laser applications
- Review laser fundamentals and terminology necessary for a complete understanding of laser safety
- Recognize the laser beam hazards (including: effects on the eyes and skin)
- Non-beam hazards associated with industrial laser processes
- Industrial laser accidents and control measures for preventing them from occuring
